Rubber-metal generator mounts are elastic mounting components that connect a wind turbine’s generator to the machine frame with minimal vibration and high reliability. They consist of a damping rubber body and integrated metal elements that ensure stable force transmission.

Area of application

Rubber-metal generator mounts are specifically designed to provide flexible mounting for the generator in the nacelle of wind turbines. They dampen torsional vibrations in the drivetrain, reduce structure-borne noise, and isolate vibrations between the generator, gearbox and nacelle structure. They are particularly important in turbines with high dynamic loads, variable speeds and severe turbulence, as well as in offshore wind turbines, where additional damping against wind and wave effects is required.

Technical details

Rubber-and-metal generator mounts consist of an elastic rubber body connected to robust metal elements, forming a permanently rigid unit through vulcanization. Thanks to their elastic structure, they dampen torsional vibrations and structure-borne noise in the drivetrain, absorb dynamic forces in multiple directions and protect the generator and machine frame from overloads. The rubber body provides vibration damping, while the metal reinforcement plates ensure reliable power transmission. Thanks to their high dynamic load-carrying capacity, defined stiffness and good resistance to aging and ozone, these mounts enable quiet, long-lasting and low-maintenance operation - even under changing wind conditions and in demanding offshore operating environments.
