Suction cup

A rubber-and-metal suction foot is a combined machine component used for the low-vibration installation and securing of machines and equipment. The rubber body provides adhesion, vibration damping and floor protection, while the metal element ensures mechanical load-bearing capacity and secure mounting. Such suction feet are frequently used under machines, test benches or power units to ensure a secure footing without the need for screws.

Area of application

Rubber and metal suction feet are used in industrial engineering and general mechanical engineering to ensure the stable and low-vibration installation of machines and equipment. Their purpose is to securely anchor machines to smooth surfaces without the need for permanent bolting, while simultaneously dampening vibrations and noise. Typical applications include test benches, packaging machines, laboratory equipment and assembly systems. They allow for flexible positioning, protect the surface and enhance operational safety.

Technical details

A rubber-and-metal suction cup technically consists of an elastic rubber body with an integrated metal plate, threaded bolt or internal thread for secure attachment to machinery. The rubber creates an adhesive bond with the surface through negative pressure and simultaneously dampens vibrations and noise. The metal component handles load transfer and ensures high mechanical stability. Depending on the design, suction cups are engineered for different loads and surface types, as well as for resistance to oil, moisture and temperature.

Characteristics

Rubber and metal suction feet are characterized by their high stability and reliable vibration and noise damping. They enable machines to be securely fastened without screws while also allowing for flexible positioning. The rubber protects the surface from damage and ensures a non-slip grip, while the metal component can support heavy loads. As a result, suction feet increase operational safety, reduce installation effort and require very little maintenance in industrial applications.
