Support rollers typically consist of a high-strength steel or cast iron core with an integrated axle and bearing assembly that absorbs the mechanical loads of the upper track. The rubber-coated running ring is usually vulcanized or designed as a replaceable ring and serves to reduce noise, impact and wear on the returning track. Inside, heavy-duty slide or roller bearings with multi-stage sealing systems are used to reliably keep out dirt, mud and water.
