Axle Bush
Axle bushes or axle decoupling elements are specially designed components used in pairs in forklift trucks to decouple the forklift axle from the vehicle frame. The controlled flexibility of the axle bush effectively reduces vibrations, shocks and structure-borne noise generated during operation. This not only relieves stress on the vehicle frame but also reduces the transmission of dynamic loads to the lift mast, contributing to smoother mast movement and improved load stability.
Area of application
Axle bushes are used in industrial trucks such as forklifts, where high dynamic loads arise from driving movements, load changes and/or uneven surfaces. They are mounted between the forklift axle and the vehicle frame.
Technical details
Axle bushes or axle decoupling elements are special bushings consisting of a metal inner and outer ring that are firmly connected to each other via an elastomer. The elastomer is designed - through its composition and geometry - to allow for defined radial and axial movements while simultaneously providing controlled stiffness and spring-back behavior. The spring characteristic curve can thus be specifically tailored to the application.
