Service Life Test
The purpose of endurance testing is to evaluate the durability and reliability of products under realistic operating conditions. During this process, stresses are simulated to detect premature failures. The goal is to ensure quality and optimize product lifespan.
Reliable service life validation through test procedure close to reality
To ensure that the service life requirements specified by the customer are met, we at the GMT Group conduct extensive and practical service life tests on components and complete assemblies. In doing so, we consistently combine our simulation-based engineering with robust experimental validation.
Under realistic load and environmental conditions, we test the functionality, fatigue strength and reliability of our products across their entire range of application - from the early development phase through to final series production approval. Various load combinations, temperature and media influences as well as dynamic stresses, are specifically taken into account to precisely simulate behavior during subsequent operation.
The test data obtained provides a solid foundation for technical approval and enables a well-founded evaluation of component performance over its entire service life. At the same time, the results are directly incorporated into optimizations of design, materials and configuration.
Service life tests to ensure compliance with customer specific requirements
At the GMT Group, our endurance tests are consistently tailored to the specific requirements of our customers and applications. The test concepts are primarily based on a highly detailed analysis of real-world operating conditions and are thus an integral part of our holistic engineering and development approach.
Depending on the specific application, we test components and assemblies under uniaxial or multiaxial loading, with specifically varied load amplitudes and frequencies, as well as defined environmental conditions. In this way, we realistically simulate complex load combinations and dynamic stresses, creating a robust foundation for well informed development and approval decisions.
By specifically simulating the conditions under which the components will eventually be used, we identify critical failure mechanisms at an early stage and document component behavior over a clearly defined number of load cycles. The insights gained are directly incorporated into the optimization of design, sizing and material selection.
This systematic, application oriented testing approach underscores the technical expertise of the GMT Group: We deliver not only test results, but also reliable, robust conclusions regarding the reliability, service life and performance of our products - ensuring high safety, a solid basis for planning and sustainable success in real-world operation.
