GMT Brazil: A new chapter for industry in Latin America

On February 23, 2026, we reached a significant milestone for our company and the entire Latin American industry with the grand opening of our new GMT plant in Arujá, São Paulo. This strategically important location strengthens our long-term presence in the region and brings state-of-the-art rubber-metal technology closer to our customers in Brazil and throughout Latin America.

Strong partnerships as the foundation of our success

The opening ceremony impressively demonstrated the strength and stability of our international and local partnerships. We had the honor of welcoming members of our global management team, including Thomas Engstler (Managing Director/Owner), Andres Schiefer (General Manager), and Frank Leyendecker (Site Manager GMT Brazil). Their presence underscores the strategic importance of the new plant for the global GMT Group.

We also welcomed high-ranking representatives of the local authorities, including the Mayor of Arujá, Luís Camargo, and City Councilors José Carlos Santos, Flávia Sanches, and Caio Gonçalves de Mello. Their participation confirms the positive economic and structural significance of our new location for the region.

Valuable support from the industry

We were particularly honored by the presence of Mr. Vicente Abate, President of ABIFER, as well as SIMEFRE representatives Mr. Paschoal de Mario and Mr. Henrique Pedroso. In addition, leading railway operators from São Paulo, industry experts, suppliers, and long-standing partners attended the event—a strong sign of confidence in our work and our technological solutions.
