Opening of Our New Plant in Brazil
GMT Brazil: A New Chapter for the Industry in Latin America
On February 23, 2026, we marked a significant milestone for our company and the entire Latin American industry with the grand opening of our new GMT plant in Arujá, São Paulo. With this strategically important location, we are strengthening our long-term presence in the region and bringing state-of-the-art rubber-metal technology closer to our customers in Brazil and throughout Latin America.
Strong Partnerships as the Foundation of Our Success
The opening ceremony impressively highlighted the strength and durability of our international and local partnerships. We had the honor of welcoming members of our global executive leadership—including Thomas Engstler (Managing Director/Owner), Andres Schiefer (General Manager), and Frank Leyendecker (Site Manager, GMT Brasil). Their presence underscores the strategic importance of the new plant for the global GMT Group.
We were also pleased to welcome high-ranking representatives from local authorities, including the mayor of Arujá, Luís Camargo, as well as city council members José Carlos Santos, Flávia Sanches, and Caio Gonçalves de Mello. Their participation confirms the positive economic and structural significance of our new facility for the region.
Valuable Support from the Industry
We were particularly honored by the presence of Mr. Vicente Abate, President of ABIFER, as well as SIMEFRE representatives Mr. Paschoal de Mario and Mr. Henrique Pedroso. In addition, leading railway operators from São Paulo, industry experts, suppliers, and long-standing partners attended the event—a strong sign of confidence in our work and our technological solutions.
Acknowledgments and Outlook
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who stood by our side on this special day and contributed to the success of the inauguration. This success is a shared one.
With our new plant in Arujá, we are sending a clear signal of growth, innovation, and sustainability. We are confident that our technological expertise, flexibility, and spirit of innovation will continue to provide decisive momentum for the railroad and industrial sectors throughout Latin America.
